Cinque Terre

This was painted from a photograph taken by a dear friend. I love painting from her photographs because she somehow captures the emotion of a person or place and it is a huge challenge to translate that to a canvas.

I loved the crazy patchwork of colors on the houses - I could imagine hot nights when the sounds of music and voices floated in the air.
