Italian Villa

This was painted from a photograph taken by a dear friend. I love painting from her photographs because she somehow captures the emotion of a person or place and it is a huge challenge to translate that to a canvas.

To me, this Villa in Italy seemed elegant in an old world way, with signs of decay giving it a sadness.
